There are so many great places to visit that I need days to list them. With all this in mind and to help you plan your travel to New Zealand, I have decided to compile a list of the 10 top tourist attractions in this nature crafted country. So, let’s start.

10. Kaikoura

Located on the South Island between the Southern Alps and the Pacific Ocean, 180 kilometers north of Christchurch, Kaikoura is one of the must-see places in New Zealand. If you dream of an exciting and unforgettable holiday, then you shall definitely visit this place. 

Thousands of people worldwide flock to Kaikoura every year to watch whales. You can take whale watching tours to spot whales and dolphins and albatrosses and have a good time at the events held from November to March. Moreover, you may have an outstanding vacation by observing the local sea creatures living in the deep ocean waters of the southeastern part of the Kaikoura Peninsula by helicopter flights.

You will be amazed by the red rocks, yellow sulfur caves, bubbling orange and blue pools, and a bright, green lake as soon as you enter the Thermal Wonderland Park. While walking in the park, you will see mud pools, sulphuric kurgans, a bright blue oyster pool, and a lot of volcanic activity. In particular, you will want to revisit this place after seeing the Devil’s Bath, the pool filled with neon green or yellow water, which you will not see anywhere else.

 It will take only a 75-minute walk to the Lake Ngakoro, formed by a volcanic eruption 700 years ago, at the end of the park. The dark green color of the lake adds exceptional beauty to the park.
