There are various types of Taiwan visas.
Some foreign nationals wishing to travel to Taiwan (officially known as the Republic of China or the Republic of Korea) need a Taiwan visa, depending on the purpose of their trip as well as the length of stay. There are two main types of visas:

  1. The Taiwanese visitor visa, most commonly referred to as the Taiwan tourist visa, is issued for a stay of up to 90 days.
  2. A resident visa for Taiwan, which is issued for a stay of more than 90 days. Taiwan Work Visa, Student Visa, Family Reunification Visa, etc. Are types of Resident Visa.

Taiwan E-visa

Travellers of certain nationalities can apply online for an electronic visa (eVisa) for Taiwan.
Please note that eVisa is only issued for tourism and business purposes and for visiting relatives and attending International Conferences or sporting events. If you want to travel to Taiwan for other purposes - such as Study, Employment, Homestay, or Chinese language courses - you must apply for the appropriate type of visa at the ROC overseas mission.
