How to apply for visa extension in Nepal?

Nepal is an Asian country located on the Himalayan mountain ranges' southern slopes. This country bordered on the east, south, and west by India, and on the north by Tibet. Its territory stretches from east to west for about 500 miles (800 kilometers) and from north to south for 90 to 150 miles. Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal. Nepal was closed to the world for a long time, long under the rule of hereditary prime ministers who favored an isolationist policy, until a palace revolt in 1950 restored the crown's authority in 1951, and the country was admitted to the United Nations in 1955. The kingdom adopted a multiparty parliamentary system in 1991. The monarchy was dissolved in 2008 after a decade of violence and tumultuous negotiations with a powerful Maoist insurgency, and Nepal was declared a democratic republic.

Nepal, sandwiched between two giants, India and China, seeks to strike a balance in its foreign policy, allowing it to remain independent. The fact that Nepal denies China access to the rich Gangetic Plain, thus marking the southern boundary of the Chinese sphere north of the Himalayas in Asia, contributes greatly to the country's geopolitical importance.

Nepal is one of the world's least developed countries as a result of years of geographical and self-imposed isolation. Many countries have helped Nepal financially in recent years, including India, China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Denmark, Germany, Canada, and Switzerland. The strategic location of Nepal between India and China has had a significant impact on the amount of foreign aid it receives. We thought that before try to visit Nepal, you should know the basics about the country. Now it is time to look at our main topic - Nepal visa extension. You will find lots of necessary information about how to extend visa in Nepal. If you are ready, let's get started!

Tourist Visa Overstaying in Nepal

Overstaying a tourist visa can be a serious issue, so it's best to take care of it right away. Overstaying a tourist visa for less than 30 days results in a $3/day penalty fine plus a $2/day extension fee. These fees must be paid in Kathmandu at the Department of Immigration, not at Tribhuvan International Airport.

The best way for international travelers to avoid this issue is to not overstay their visa. The fines mentioned above, as well as higher fines if the tourist stays longer than 30 days, and arrest are all possible outcomes.
